Indications
Ceftriaxone Sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity. It is effective against a wide range of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, making it suitable for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

Respiratory Tract Infections: Such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and tonsillitis.

Urinary Tract Infections: Including cystitis and pyelonephritis.

Gynecological Infections: Such as endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and gonorrhea.

Surgical Prophylaxis: To prevent infections following surgical procedures.

Meningitis: Particularly in cases caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Bone and Joint Infections: Including osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.

Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Such as cellulitis and wound infections.

Septicemia and Endocarditis: Infections of the bloodstream and heart valves.

Neonatal Sepsis: Infections in newborns.
2. (Dosage and Administration)
The dosage of Ceftriaxone Sodium should be adjusted according to the type and severity of the infection, as well as the patient's age and renal function.
Adults:

Mild to Moderate Infections: 1-2 grams once daily.

Severe Infections: 2-4 grams once daily, or divided into two doses.

Meningitis: 2 grams once daily.

Surgical Prophylaxis: A single dose of 1-2 grams administered intravenously or intramuscularly within 1-2 hours before surgery.
Children:

Mild to Moderate Infections: 20-80 mg/kg/day, administered once daily or divided into two doses.

Severe Infections: Up to 80-100 mg/kg/day, not exceeding the adult dose.

Neonates (≤ 28 days): The dose should be carefully adjusted based on age and weight, typically 20-50 mg/kg/day.

Intravenous Injection: Dissolve the powder in an appropriate solvent (e.g., sterile water, saline) and administer slowly over 2-4 minutes.

Intramuscular Injection: Dissolve the powder in a suitable solvent (e.g., lidocaine) and administer into a large muscle mass (e.g., gluteal muscle).
3. (Storage)

Unreconstituted Powder: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is below 25°C (77°F).

Reconstituted Solution: Use immediately after reconstitution. If not used immediately, store the reconstituted solution in a refrigerator (2-8°C) and use within 24 hours.

Protect from Moisture: Ensure the container is tightly closed to prevent moisture absorption.

Expiration Date: Do not use beyond the expiration date indicated on the package.
