Mechanism of Action
ACE-031 is a recombinant fusion protein that combines a portion of the human Activin Type IIB receptor (ActRIIB) with the Fc region of human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1). This fusion protein acts as a decoy receptor, binding to myostatin and other related molecules that inhibit mus*cle gro*wth. By doing so, ACE-031 effectively neutralizes these inhibitory signals, allowing muscle cells to proliferate and differentiate more freely, leading to increased muscle mass and strength. Additionally, ACE-031 may also interact with other members of the TGF-β superfamily, such as activin A and BMP-2, which play roles in muscle development and protein synthesis.

For example, mixing 1ml of water with a 1mg vial of ACE-031 allows for dosages of 10iu (0.10ml = 100mcg) or 5iu (0.05ml = 50mcg). It is recommended to split the dose bilaterally and inject it into the muscle group. The half-life of ACE-031 is approximately 10-15 days, which means a single vial can last for about ten days.
